Celebrate Dr. Seuss’ birthday on March 2 with a free book giveaway!

NEW YORK — A delightful surprise awaits those born on March 2, courtesy of Dr. Seuss.

This year, Dr. Seuss Enterprises is broadening its initiative by offering personalized copies of his famous books to all individuals celebrating their birthday on that date. The initiative follows a previous program that provided 10,000 free copies of the classic “The Cat in the Hat” to newborns on March 2. Dr. Seuss, whose real name was Theodor Geisel, entered the world on March 2, 1904, and his literary works, like “Green Eggs and Ham” and “The Cat in the Hat,” continue to enchant readers long after his passing in 1991.

Individuals with a March 2 birthday can register at SeussPledge.com to receive a personalized book sent directly to them or to donate it to children in underprivileged communities. This initiative aims to reach even more readers and followers of Dr. Seuss’s work. Susan Brandt, the president and CEO of Dr. Seuss Enterprises, emphasized the importance of reading by quoting one of Dr. Seuss’s sayings: “The more that you read, the more things you will know. The more that you learn, the more places you’ll go.”

To facilitate this, the donated books will be co-sponsored by Random House Children’s Books, Dr. Seuss’s longtime publishing ally. Each book will feature a personalized note celebrating the recipient’s special birthday, alongside a motivation to engage in daily reading.

Those interested in this offer must provide their full name, email, mailing address, phone number, and evidence of their March 2 birthdate. The offer is limited to the first 20,000 participants and is available exclusively to those who are at least 18 years old and reside in any of the 50 states or Washington, D.C.
