The final pregame introduction at Chase Center belonged to none other than Stephen Curry. And when the big MVP trophy was handed out, Curry hoisted it high, capping off a special All-Star Game in front of his home crowd.
A Celebration of Curry’s Legacy
It was his arena. His fans. Another shining moment in his legendary career.
Curry soaked in the well-deserved spotlight, reflecting on his incredible journey from Oakland to San Francisco as the face of the Golden State Warriors.
“This is just a special weekend all the way around,” Curry said. “It’s very symbolic of the entire journey. I hope we have a lot more to accomplish, but having played here for 16 years, this is just a great celebration of basketball in this area.”
Curry kicked off the final with a signature 3-pointer, later draining a half-court shot before chest-bumping rapper Mistah Fab on the sideline. He helped lead Shaq’s OGs to a 41-25 victory over Chuck’s Global Stars, finishing with 12 points—all from beyond the arc.
MVP Cheers and a Weekend to Remember
As Curry lifted the MVP trophy, the Chase Center crowd erupted in chants of “MVP! MVP!” It was yet another unforgettable moment in a year filled with milestones—an Olympic gold medal in August, an All-Star victory in the Bay six months later, and next month, his 37th birthday.
During a midgame break, Curry grabbed the mic to express how “blessed” he felt to host the All-Star Game on the Warriors’ home floor.
“This has been a part of my life for the last 16 years,” he said. “The basketball history and culture here, the amazing fans, and the impact this game has had on both cities—it was awesome from start to finish.”
A Fitting Finish to a Packed Weekend
Curry’s weekend was a whirlwind of events—parties, practice, and community outreach—but he embraced every moment.
“The hosting experience was unbelievable,” he said. “I’m not going to complain about how exhausting it was. It’s an honor and a blessing.”
His 11th All-Star selection and 10th appearance were about more than just basketball. The weekend brought together people who have supported him throughout his journey, giving him a chance to reflect before refocusing on the season ahead.
“I’m excited to get back to work next week,” Curry said. “I’ll take a little time to rest, but everything kind of went exactly as it should.”
