Elon Musk is cashing in again! His Tesla empire just landed a massive $400 million contract from the US State Department. This deal comes at a time when Washington is slashing budgets left and right.

Another big win for Musk!

Fresh off a $38.5 million SpaceX contract, Musk is now securing even more taxpayer dollars. The Tesla deal, revealed in the State Department’s fourth-quarter procurement forecast, is raising eyebrows.

Mystery ‘Armored Tesla’ raises questions

The contract is reportedly for an ‘Armored Tesla.’ However, such a vehicle does not yet exist. The budget modification was quietly made on December 13, according to Drop Site News. The procurement document lists the project as ‘TBD’ under completion status.

Musk is no stranger to government contracts. Since 2015, SpaceX and Tesla have raked in a jaw-dropping $18 billion in federal funding. This goes all the way back to the Obama administration.

No conflict of interest, says Musk

Speaking from the Oval Office, Musk dismissed concerns about conflicts of interest. ‘You have to look at the individual contract,‘ he said. He insisted that all his deals are the best value for taxpayers. ‘If you find one that isn’t, let me know,‘ he challenged.

Musk, who bought Twitter (now X) in 2022, continues expanding his influence. The latest SpaceX contract, worth $38,858,978, was signed Monday, February 10. NASA, an independent agency under the executive branch, awarded the deal.

Trump, Musk and the government overhaul

Meanwhile, Musk and Trump are shaking up Washington. Last week, USAID was shut down. Four FEMA finance officials were fired after DOGE exposed $59 million spent on luxury hotels for illegal migrants.

Education, healthcare and more on the chopping block

The Trump administration just axed $900 million in Education Department contracts. More agencies are bracing for brutal cuts as Musk leads the charge against what he calls ‘wasteful spending.’

As Musk secures lucrative deals, critics question how his businesses keep winning big while federal programs face the axe. One thing is clear—Elon Musk isn’t slowing down anytime soon.
