SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. — A tragic incident unfolded on Monday afternoon at the Scottsdale Airport in Arizona, resulting in one fatality and several injuries when a private jet linked to Mötley Crüe vocalist Vince Neil collided with another aircraft, according to local officials.

Neil’s jet was landing when it went off course and struck a parked plane. Neil was not on board, as confirmed by his representative, Worrick Robinson, IV, who provided a statement addressing the event. “Mr. Neil’s thoughts and prayers go out to everyone involved, and he is grateful for the critical aid of all first responders assisting today,” Robinson stated.

Kelli Kuester, the aviation planning and outreach coordinator at Scottsdale Airport, reported that the private jet was coming in from Austin, Texas, when it veered off the runway. The collision involved a Gulfstream 200 aircraft that was stationed on private property. The malfunction of the left main landing gear on the landing jet is believed to have caused the incident.

There were four individuals on the landing jet and one person aboard the parked plane. According to Scottsdale Fire Department Captain Dave Folio, two injured individuals were transported to trauma facilities, with at least one in stable condition at a local hospital. Efforts were ongoing to recover the deceased from the crash site.

Folio expressed the department’s condolences, stating, “Our thoughts and prayers go out to everybody involved in this.” In the aftermath of the collision, the runway has been closed indefinitely, with no set timeline for reopening, as specified by Kuester.

Scottsdale Mayor Lisa Borowsky is actively monitoring the situation, maintaining communication with airport officials, law enforcement, and federal agencies. She expressed her sympathies, stating, “On behalf of the city of Scottsdale, we offer our deepest condolences to those involved in the accident and for those who have been taken to our trauma center for treatment. We will keep all affected by this tragedy in our prayers.”

The airport is a favored destination for jets, especially during significant local sporting events such as the Waste Management Phoenix Open golf tournament, which draws substantial crowds nearby.

This accident adds to a grim series of aviation incidents in recent weeks, including a mid-air collision between a commercial jet and an Army helicopter that resulted in 67 fatalities near the nation’s capital. Additional tragedies involved a medical flight that crashed in Philadelphia and a commuter plane accident in Alaska, which collectively claimed numerous lives.
