NFL Honors to Reveal Winners of Associated Press Awards

NEW ORLEANS — The announcement of this year’s NFL awards winners will take place on Thursday evening at the NFL Honors ceremony.
This event will recognize eight distinct categories, including Most Valuable Player, Coach of the Year, Offensive Player of the Year, Defensive Player of the Year, Offensive Rookie of the Year, Defensive Rookie of the Year, Comeback Player of the Year, and Assistant Coach of the Year for the 2024-25 season.

Among the top contenders for the MVP award are Josh Allen, Saquon Barkley, Joe Burrow, Jared Goff, and Lamar Jackson.
Additionally, Barkley, Burrow, and Jackson have been nominated for Offensive Player of the Year honors, while Burrow is also in contention for the Comeback Player of the Year award.

The voting for these awards was conducted by a national panel of 50 journalists who cover the NFL on a regular basis, with voting completed prior to the commencement of the playoffs.
Jackson earned recognition as the AP first-team All-Pro quarterback, while Allen secured a spot on the second team. Notably, Allen and the Bills faced Jackson and the Ravens in the playoffs, where they emerged victorious before ultimately losing to Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs in the AFC Championship Game.

Barkley had a remarkable season, rushing for a total of 2,005 yards, which ranks as the eighth-best in NFL history. In the playoffs, he has accumulated 442 rushing yards and scored five touchdowns, significantly contributing to the Eagles’ advancement to the Super Bowl against the Kansas City Chiefs this Sunday.

Barkley is on the verge of breaking Terrell Davis’ long-standing record of 30 yards, which has stood for 26 years as the record for the most rushing yards in a season when including playoff performance.
