A worker at a warehouse in New Albany, Ohio, made a distressing 911 call reporting that he had been shot in the neck. He also claimed to have wrested a gun away from a co-worker who had opened fire on several individuals. This tragic incident resulted in two fatalities and left four more injured, causing widespread panic among the employees.

The motives behind the shooting, which occurred on Tuesday night, remain unclear. The 28-year-old suspect, Bruce Reginald Foster III, was expected to appear in court for his arraignment on Thursday.

Authorities confirmed that another individual succumbed to their injuries on Thursday morning, revising the casualty count in the shooting. Specifics regarding the condition of the injured remain undisclosed.

According to 911 recordings, employees described that several victims were injured in the production area of the warehouse. The worker who claimed he disarmed the shooter stated that he handed the weapon over to a supervisor shortly afterward.

During a press briefing, New Albany’s Police Chief Greg Jones indicated that the suspect had engaged with law enforcement officials. However, he noted, “I wouldn’t call him fully cooperative.”

Court records from Licking County showed no representation for Foster in the aggravated murder case as of Thursday morning. Efforts to contact him or his family were unsuccessful, as the provided phone numbers were non-functional.

When law enforcement officers arrived at the industrial park, they narrowly missed capturing Foster, who had already fled the scene in a rideshare vehicle. Police teams, equipped with drones and a canine unit, conducted a thorough search of the premises.

Chief Jones revealed, “It does appear that there was contact between a victim and the shooter,” while emphasizing that the specifics of that interaction were not yet well understood.

Foster was eventually located at an apartment in Columbus, where he was apprehended on Wednesday morning. Chief Deputy U.S. Marshal Dan Deville confirmed that a stun gun was used to subdue him after he refused to comply with authorities.

The shooting took place at a warehouse belonging to a company that produces various items, including cosmetics and toiletries. Approximately 150 employees were evacuated to a nearby location following the incident.

“None of the employees reported any prior conflicts involving him or indicated he had any issues at work,” Jones noted, shedding light on the shocking nature of the event.
