Trump to make history as the first sitting president to attend the Super Bowl in New Orleans.

In a historic move, Donald Trump is set to attend the Super Bowl in New Orleans on Sunday, making him the first sitting president to do so.

The U.S. Secret Service, which oversees the president’s security, announced on Tuesday that its personnel have been on-site for several days, preparing for Trump’s presence at the event where the Kansas City Chiefs will face the Philadelphia Eagles.

Secret Service spokesman Anthony Guglielmi reiterated the significance of this occasion in a statement, emphasizing that comprehensive planning and coordination are underway to ensure the safety of all involved, including attendees, players, and staff. “Security measures have been heightened this year,” he added, noting that this is a landmark event with a sitting president in attendance.

Attendees of the Super Bowl should anticipate receiving further details in the next few days regarding security protocols, including checkpoint information, the spokesperson indicated.

In addition to his attendance, Trump is expected to participate in an interview with Bret Baier from Fox News as part of the pregame programming. This segment will be filmed in Florida before the big game, aligning with the tradition of presidents granting interviews to the network airing the Super Bowl. While past presidents, including Joe Biden and Trump himself, have had varied participation in this custom, Trump appears to be continuing the practice.

Originally from New York, Trump now resides in Florida, but he has not disclosed which team he is cheering for in the championship match. When pressed by a reporter at the White House for his prediction on the game’s outcome, Trump placed emphasis on a certain quarterback, alluding to Patrick Mahomes of the Chiefs. “I don’t want to say, but there’s a certain quarterback that seems to be a pretty good winner,” he remarked.

In a show of support, Trump previously congratulated the Chiefs following their victory in the AFC Championship game last month. He shared his enthusiasm on his social media platform, stating, “Congratulations to the Kansas City Chiefs. What a GREAT Team, Coach, Quarterback, and virtually everything else, including those fantastic FANS, that voted for me (MAGA!) in record numbers. Likewise, congratulations to the Buffalo Bills on a tremendous season. They will do a lot of winning long into the future!!!”
