Federal court strikes down handgun ban for young adults!

In a shocking decision, a federal appeals court has ruled that banning handgun sales to adults under 21 is unconstitutional! The New Orleans-based 5th US Circuit Court of Appeals delivered the bombshell ruling on Thursday. The three-judge panel unanimously rejected the Biden administration’s arguments, sending shockwaves through the legal and political world!

Major victory for gun rights!

The court slammed the government’s attempt to justify the ban. The Biden administration claimed the restriction followed the nation’s historical gun laws. But the judges didn’t buy it! In a scathing opinion, Judge Edith Jones declared that 18-to-20-year-olds are part of “the people” protected by the Second Amendment.

The government has provided almost no evidence that such a ban existed in the founding era,” Jones wrote. She also criticized the Justice Department for using weak 19th-century examples. Those laws, she said, contradict earlier historical evidence!

Decades-old law crumbles!

The federal ban dates back to 1968. Congress passed the Omnibus Crime Control and Safe Streets Act, stopping licensed dealers from selling handguns to adults under 21. For decades, this law stood firm. But now, it’s been shattered!

Gun rights groups celebrate!

The ruling is a massive win for gun rights advocates! The case was brought by a group of 18-to-20-year-olds, backed by the Firearms Policy Coalition (FPC) and the Second Amendment Foundation. They fought hard, and now they’re celebrating!

This is a huge victory against an unconstitutional and immoral gun ban,” said FPC President Brandon Combs. “We will keep fighting to restore Second Amendment rights for all peaceable adults!”

Gun control advocates furious!

Not everyone is happy. Gun control activists are outraged! Brady: United Against Gun Violence blasted the decision. They warned that it will put more firearms in the hands of teenagers, making America more dangerous!

This reckless ruling will lead to more guns in the hands of young people,” the group posted on X. “We are ready to fight back!”

The Biden administration could appeal. The case might even reach the Supreme Court! But for now, gun rights advocates have scored a major victory. The battle over the Second Amendment is far from over, and this ruling has just set the stage for an even bigger fight!
