Vance indicates that certain journalists reporting on the Trump administration exhibit bias.

In a recent statement, Vice President JD Vance expressed concerns regarding the possibility of inherent bias among some journalists covering the Trump administration. He went further to assert that these individuals could even be considered Democratic “propagandists,” hinting that the new administration would closely scrutinize those who pose questions during press conferences.

During an interview with Sean Hannity on Fox News, which aired on Wednesday, Vance affirmed, “We are seriously considering which reporters attend our briefings. Even if a reporter holds a left-leaning viewpoint, we certainly want to address their inquiries.” He elaborated that if a reporter is perceived as disseminating Democratic party propaganda, they would be treated accordingly—though he did not provide specific details on what this treatment might entail.

Vance also took the opportunity to commend White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt, who had recently made her first appearance in the briefing room. Leavitt announced a new policy where two seats generally reserved for White House staff would be allocated to “new media” journalists instead of traditional outlets that already have designated seating.

Vance acknowledged the significance of this change, stating, “Karoline has engaged many new media representatives and young voices, who I believe are at the forefront of American journalism. These individuals are pivotal in shaping news narratives in 2025.”

In addition, Leavitt stated that the Trump administration intends to reinstate press credentials for over 400 individuals whom she claimed had their access unjustly revoked under the Biden administration.
