SZA will collaborate with Kendrick Lamar for the Super Bowl halftime show.

Los Angeles — Super Bowl halftime festivities are set to feature the talented Kendrick Lamar alongside the acclaimed singer SZA, who has won multiple Grammy Awards.

A promotional video released by Lamar and Apple Music on Thursday shows the rapper strolling on a football field, where SZA playfully approaches from behind and splashes water on him. The performance will take place at the Caesars Superdome in New Orleans on February 9, marking a much-anticipated collaboration.

SZA previously shared a label with Lamar at Top Dawg Entertainment and has contributed to his recent album, “GNX.” Notably, she is featured in tracks like “Gloria” and “Luther,” the latter of which creatively incorporates sampled vocals from legendary artists Luther Vandross and Cheryl Lynn in “If This World Were Mine.”

Together, they have produced hits such as the Oscar-nominated “All the Stars” and “Doves in the Wind.” Moreover, they are set to co-headline a North American tour, aptly named the Grand National Tour, which will take them through 19 cities this coming spring and summer. The tour is scheduled to commence on April 19 in Minneapolis and wrap up on June 18 in Washington, D.C.

As the Grammy Awards approach on February 2, SZA is up for two nominations with her hit single “Saturn,” recognized in the best R&B song and R&B performance categories. To date, she has earned a total of four Grammy accolades.

Meanwhile, Kendrick Lamar enters the awards ceremony with an impressive seven nominations, with standout tracks including “Like That” featuring Future and Metro Boomin, as well as “Not Like Us,” which is nominated for both song of the year and record of the year. Over his career, Lamar has garnered an impressive 17 Grammys.

The halftime show will be produced by Roc Nation along with Emmy-winning producer Jesse Collins, while Lamar’s performance will be creatively directed by pgLang, a company he co-founded with Dave Free, who has a history of directing Lamar’s music videos.

Last year’s halftime show featured Usher and was filled with star power, showcasing appearances from renowned artists such as H.E.R., Jermaine Dupri, Lil Jon, Ludacris, and Alicia Keys. This year’s lineup promises to deliver an equally thrilling performance.
