Former Vice President Kamala Harris, along with second gentleman Doug Emhoff, has returned to Los Angeles to assist in relief efforts for wildfire victims. Her visit comes after weeks of criticism for not addressing the crisis sooner.

Harris is set to visit a local fire station and help distribute food to those affected by the devastating wildfires, marking her first return to California since the fires began on Jan. 7. The disaster has caused widespread destruction, including areas near her $4.8 million Brentwood home.

Criticism over delayed response

Harris faced backlash last week for her comments urging patience among displaced residents. Critics labeled her remarks as vague and unhelpful during a time of urgent need.

Future political ambitions

Despite stepping down from office, Harris has hinted at remaining active in politics. Speculation suggests she may consider a run for California governor in 2028, as Gov. Gavin Newsom approaches his term limit and is rumored to have presidential ambitions.
