Chicago in the crosshairs – US begins mass deportations on Tuesday

Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) is gearing up for what insiders are calling a “big f**king operation.” The raids will begin immediately after Donald Trump’s inauguration, targeting sanctuary cities like Chicago and New York. According to reports, ICE will focus on illegal immigrants with removal orders.

Sources say ICE officers are preparing for multi-day sweeps in cities that shield undocumented migrants. These cities, often at odds with federal immigration enforcement, will be the first to face the crackdown.

Tom Homan, Trump’s incoming border czar, has made it clear: “We’re taking the handcuffs off ICE. They’ll do their job without apology.” He warned that “no one’s off the table,” adding, “If they’re here illegally, they’ve got a problem.”

Chicago in the crosshairs

Chicago is one of the key targets for the operation. Homan has repeatedly criticized the city’s leadership. “Chicago’s in trouble because your mayor sucks, and your governor sucks,” he said during a December event.

Reports reveal that over 200 ICE officers will be deployed for the Chicago raids alone. The Wall Street Journal confirmed this, citing insiders familiar with the plan.

John Fabbricatore, a former ICE officer from Denver, said these large-scale sweeps were halted during the Biden administration. “The men and women of ICE are ready to do their jobs again,” he said.

Nationwide raids planned

It’s not just Chicago. Homan announced on Fox News that similar operations will take place nationwide. “We’ve got 24 ICE field offices across the country,” he told Jesse Watters. “This isn’t just about one city. It’s happening everywhere.

The raids will focus on criminal aliens but won’t stop there. Homan stressed that while the worst offenders are the priority, any undocumented immigrant could be targeted. “We’ll wait until they get out of jail, then we’ll go into the neighborhoods to get them,” he said.

Sanctuary cities under fire

Homan has also taken aim at sanctuary cities for protecting undocumented migrants. He warned that these cities could face lawsuits or lose federal funding if they continue to defy immigration laws.

He recently met with New York City Mayor Eric Adams to discuss the issue. Sources say Adams has shifted his stance, marking a sharp departure from his earlier progressive views on immigration.

Homan made it clear: ICE will operate independently if local authorities refuse to cooperate. “Sanctuary policies won’t stop us. We’ll do what we need to do,” he said.

Major changes at the border

The crackdown won’t stop with ICE sweeps. Trump’s administration plans to overhaul border policies on Day 1.

South Dakota Governor Kristi Noem, Trump’s pick to lead the Department of Homeland Security, testified during her confirmation hearing about these changes. One of the first moves will be scrapping the Biden administration’s CBP One app. This program allowed migrants to schedule border crossings, with nearly a million using it so far.

Noem and Homan both signaled a hardline approach moving forward. “The days of leniency are over,” Homan said.

What’s next?

With Trump’s team taking office, immigration enforcement is set for a dramatic shift. ICE is ready to act, sanctuary cities are in the spotlight, and the border is bracing for immediate changes.

The message from the new administration is clear: Immigration laws will be enforced without apology. For undocumented immigrants, the stakes have never been higher.
