Viral fame for woman caught in drug bust

Kirsty Sansum, a 30-year-old convicted drug dealer, has unintentionally won over an online fanbase after police released her mugshot. Social media users were captivated by her striking appearance, describing her as “a looker” and “easily recognizable” in comments that quickly went viral.

Arrest at motorway service station

Police discovered the drugs stashed in a carrier bag under the front seat of the vehicle they were in.

Sansum was arrested alongside John Rogers, 29, at Strensham Services on the M5 in Gloucestershire on March 11. Police found three kilograms of cocaine hidden in a carrier bag under the front seat of their vehicle. Investigations revealed the pair were part of a drug supply operation involving Kingsley Williams, 28, and Aaron Russell, 30.

Sentences for the conspirators

The group pleaded guilty to conspiracy to supply cocaine earlier this month:

  • John Rogers: Sentenced to five years and three months in prison.
  • Kingsley Williams: Sentenced to six years and nine months in prison.
  • Aaron Russell: Sentenced to six years in prison, with $1,800 and a Rolex watch confiscated.
  • Kirsty Sansum: Avoided jail with a two-year suspended sentence, a nine-month drug rehabilitation order, and 100 hours of unpaid community work.

Police statement on the operation

Detective Inspector Matt Phillips of Gloucestershire Constabulary emphasized the gravity of the case, stating:
“This was a significant conspiracy to bring thousands of pounds worth of drugs into our county. These drugs would have eventually ended up on our streets, bringing misery to the lives of our communities.”

Social media reaction

Despite the serious nature of her crimes, Sansum’s mugshot has sparked widespread attention online. Her appearance, including a tattooed look and a top-bun hairstyle, drew comments that overshadowed the criminal charges, leading to debates about glamorizing crime on social platforms.
