Brad Pitt has reportedly turned down a lucrative offer to star alongside his ex-wife Angelina Jolie in a film by producer Danny Rossner. The project, set during World War II at the Hotel Martinez in Cannes, would have seen the estranged pair portraying lovers, but sources close to Pitt, 60, dismissed the idea as a “publicity stunt.”

“Brad has no intention of working with Angelina ever again. All the money in the world wouldn’t convince him to appear in a movie with her,” an insider told DailyMail.com. The actor, still embroiled in a bitter legal battle with Jolie, 49, over their French estate Château Miraval, reportedly views the idea as an affront given the heartache she has caused him.

Rossner, known for 2001: A Space Travesty, claimed to have secured $60 million to entice the former couple to star in his passion project, which features “torrid love scenes.” While he suggested the film could act as a bridge to reconcile the exes, Pitt’s camp strongly rejected the notion. “They are bitter enemies, and Brad wouldn’t even consider this for a moment,” the insider added.

The History of Pitt and Jolie’s Fallout

The couple’s relationship unraveled in 2016 after an explosive altercation on a private jet, which led to Jolie filing for divorce. The fallout reportedly left Pitt estranged from his six children: Shiloh, 18, Knox and Vivienne, 16, and his adopted children Maddox, 23, Pax, 20, and Zahara, 19.

In 2022, Jolie alleged in an FBI report that Pitt physically assaulted her during the flight, claims he has denied. Meanwhile, their legal disputes over Château Miraval have further strained relations, with Jolie recently winning a court order requiring Pitt to release documents that could support allegations of abuse.

Rossner’s Optimistic Vision

Despite the history of animosity, Rossner claimed the project would guarantee box office success if both stars signed on. He suggested the couple could “put their differences aside” for his 20-year-old passion project. “If we can have a ceasefire between Israel and Lebanon, [Pitt and Jolie] can come together to make this movie,” he said.

The film, centered on real-life hotelier Emmanuel Martinez and his mistress Emma Digard, has no backup casting plan. Rossner insisted, “It’s a slam dunk with them. There’s not even a second place.”

No Reunion in Sight

Should Pitt and Jolie agree, it would mark their first collaboration since Mr. & Mrs. Smith (2005), the film where they met. However, insiders suggest such a reunion is highly unlikely given the ongoing legal battles and deep personal rifts. While Rossner remains optimistic, it seems the possibility of seeing Pitt and Jolie together on screen again is nothing more than a pipe dream.
