Kenosha, Wisconsin – Authorities detained a 16-year-old student on allegations of bringing a firearm to his high school in Kenosha, marking the second incident involving firearms in local schools within a short span of time.

On Monday, the resource officer at Indian Trail High School and Academy was informed about a social media post depicting the student with a weapon, prompting a police investigation. Officers located the student quickly, escorted him to an office, and subsequently placed him under arrest before transporting him to the police precinct. Investigations revealed the student had concealed the firearm in an area that made it difficult for the officers to locate it at first.

The police statement provided limited details, and inquiries for further information were not immediately addressed by a police spokesperson. As of Wednesday, the student remained in custody at a juvenile detention facility, awaiting an upcoming court hearing. In Wisconsin, the legal processes concerning minors are confidential, meaning the specific proceedings and their outcomes are not publicly disclosed.

Earlier this month, on November 7, police apprehended a 13-year-old boy who allegedly attempted to bring suspicious bags into Roosevelt Elementary School. Authorities suspect that the boy was armed, based on video evidence showing him displaying what appeared to be a rifle and statements made to fellow students.

When school personnel approached the boy for questioning, he fled the scene but was later apprehended at his residence later that day. This series of events raises ongoing concerns about safety in the local educational institutions and the measures in place to prevent such incidents.
