WASHINGTON — In an announcement made on Wednesday, President-elect Donald Trump revealed his choice for the Secretary of the Army, selecting a seasoned veteran and former soldier.
Trump has nominated Daniel P. Driscoll, who has a background as an Iraq War veteran and has successfully completed the Army Ranger training.
Hailing from North Carolina, Driscoll previously served as a senior adviser to Vice President-elect JD Vance.
His educational credentials include degrees from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill as well as Yale Law School, reflecting a well-rounded academic background.
“Dan will be an unyielding advocate for America’s Soldiers and thoroughly support the America First agenda,” Trump remarked on his social media platform, emphasizing confidence in Driscoll’s capability to fulfill this role.
The Army has yet to provide a response concerning Driscoll’s service record.
