WASHINGTON — The United States is on the verge of delivering an extra $725 million in military aid to Ukraine, which will feature counter-drone technologies and artillery munitions designed for its High Mobility Artillery Rocket System (HIMARS). This move suggests that there may be plans to send more long-range missiles to assist on the front lines.
While two U.S. officials have refrained from confirming whether the artillery munitions in question include the highly sought-after ATACMS (Army Tactical Missile System), Ukraine is actively seeking additional long-range missile capabilities to target more strategic locations within Russia.
These officials requested to remain anonymous as they shared details about this impending announcement prior to its public release.
In addition to the mentioned systems, the upcoming military package will also provide an assortment of anti-personnel landmines, which Ukraine believes will help to impede the movement of Russian and North Korean troops operating in the Kursk area.
