Trump’s cabinet nominees face threats amid transition–law enforcement responds swiftly

Nearly a dozen of President-elect Donald Trump’s Cabinet nominees and appointees were targeted Tuesday night with “violent, unAmerican threats” to their lives and families, prompting an immediate response from law enforcement, Fox News Digital reports.

According to Karoline Leavitt, Trump-Vance transition spokeswoman and incoming White House press secretary, the threats included bomb scares and “swatting” incidents—fake emergency calls meant to provoke an armed police response.

“Last night and this morning, several of President Trump’s Cabinet nominees and administration appointees were targeted,” Leavitt said Wednesday. “Law enforcement acted swiftly to ensure their safety, and President Trump, along with the entire Transition team, is grateful for their quick action.”

Swift Action Ensures Safety

Local law enforcement visited the homes of several nominees and appointees following the threats, Leavitt confirmed. She emphasized the administration’s commitment to unity despite the intimidation.

“President Trump and the Transition team are focused on uniting our nation by ensuring a safe and prosperous future,” Leavitt stated. “With President Trump as our example, dangerous acts of intimidation and violence will not deter us.”

The threats come in the wake of a turbulent few months for Trump, who has survived two assassination attempts this year.

Trump Credits Chart for Saving His Life

On July 13, during a rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, Trump narrowly escaped a shooting. While presenting a chart on illegal immigration trends under the Biden-Harris administration, a bullet grazed the upper part of his right ear. The attacker, identified as Thomas Matthew Crooks, was subdued and later declared deceased. Trump credited the chart with saving his life.

Weeks later, in September, another attempt unfolded at Trump International Golf Course in West Palm Beach, Florida. Alleged gunman Ryan Wesley Routh was discovered hiding in the bushes with an AK-47-style rifle aimed at Trump. Secret Service agents quickly intervened, ensuring Trump remained unharmed.

A Resilient Transition Amid Challenges

Despite these challenges, Trump’s transition team remains resolute. “Dangerous acts of intimidation won’t slow us down,” Leavitt assured.
