Rams Wide Receiver Demarcus Robinson taken into custody on DUI charges following defeat against Eagles

Los Angeles Rams wide receiver Demarcus Robinson was taken into custody early Monday morning, facing allegations of driving under the influence.

According to the California Highway Patrol (CHP), Robinson was cited and subsequently released following a game where he caught a touchdown pass during the Rams’ 37-20 defeat against the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday night.

The CHP noted that officers observed a white Dodge sedan traveling at speeds exceeding 100 mph around 5:13 a.m. on the 101 freeway, located in the western region of San Fernando Valley, not far from the Rams’ training facility in Woodland Hills.

When authorities stopped the vehicle, the driver identified himself as Robinson and exhibited “objective signs and symptoms of alcohol impairment,” as stated in the CHP’s report. Following his arrest, he was released to a person deemed responsible.

In his second season with the Rams, Robinson has made 26 receptions for a total of 384 yards and has secured a team-high six touchdown catches while participating as a starter in all 11 games (the team’s record stands at 5-6). The nine-year NFL veteran has effectively filled the role of the No. 3 wide receiver for quarterback Matthew Stafford, alongside star players Cooper Kupp and Puka Nacua.

Robinson started his NFL career with the Kansas City Chiefs, where he played for six seasons and earned a Super Bowl ring in February 2020. He later spent one season with the Baltimore Ravens before joining the Rams last year.

Rams head coach Sean McVay is set to hold a press conference on Tuesday. The team is preparing for a visit to New Orleans on Sunday as they strive to remain competitive in the closely contested NFC West division.
