Drake set to launch Australia tour coinciding with Kendrick Lamar’s Super Bowl performance.

Drake has revealed plans for his first Australian tour in eight years, coinciding with Kendrick Lamar’s much-anticipated Super Bowl halftime show.

In a livestream event held on Sunday night with popular Quebec streamer Félix Lengyel, Drake announced that his tour will kick off on February 9. This date is significant as it aligns with Lamar’s performance scheduled to take place at the Caesars Superdome in New Orleans. Interestingly, Drake did not acknowledge this connection during the livestream.

The upcoming tour will include performances in major cities such as Melbourne, Sydney, and the Gold Coast, and is expected to run until sometime in March. “I’m just going to go to Australia for now. It’s been eight years,” Drake remarked, expressing his fondness for the country.

As of now, there has been no response from Drake’s team regarding further details about the tour or ticket sales. This announcement comes on the heels of an ongoing rap rivalry between Drake and Lamar, which has played out publicly, with each artist taking jabs at the other through tracks like Drake’s “Taylor Made Freestyle” and Lamar’s “Not Like Us.”

Lamar’s latest song has garnered significant acclaim, receiving five Grammy nominations, including prestigious categories such as record of the year and song of the year. In contrast, Drake did not receive any Grammy nominations this year, and there has been no immediate clarification on whether he submitted any projects for consideration. Historically, he has chosen not to submit work in previous years.
