Georgia election officials push for additional consequences for Giuliani, alleging ongoing defamation.

Two former election officials from Georgia, who secured a significant defamation verdict of $148 million against Rudy Giuliani, have requested additional consequences from a judge, asserting that he persistently levies false accusations against them regarding ballot tampering during the 2020 presidential election.

Attorneys representing Ruby Freeman and her daughter, Wandrea “Shaye” Moss, filed a motion in U.S. District Court in Washington, D.C. The document claims that Giuliani reiterated these defamatory allegations on his recent broadcasts on the social media site X. The pair is urging the court to find Giuliani in contempt and to impose further sanctions on him.

Giuliani’s attorney, Joseph M. Cammarata, responded on Wednesday, stating that he had yet to review the court filing and was therefore unable to address its specific allegations. However, he characterized the filing as an attempt to intimidate Giuliani, the former mayor of New York City.

“Our determination will not waver,” Cammarata asserted during a press conference held in New York City. He accused the legal representatives for Freeman and Moss of attempting to undermine an elderly patriot of 80 years.

Last year, Giuliani was deemed liable for defamation and mandated to pay $148 million to Freeman and Moss after he alleged they engaged in ballot tampering as he supported then-President Donald Trump’s unfounded claims of election fraud. The accusations led to grave threats against the women, who reported instances of being targeted after Giuliani alleged they were involved in illegal activities like sneaking ballots in suitcases and manipulating ballots multiple times.

In their recent court submission, attorneys for Freeman and Moss asserted that Giuliani had once again referred to them during his latest online broadcasts on X, previously known as Twitter. They quoted him as saying, “they never let me show the tapes that show them quadruple counting the, the, the ballots.” The motion alleges that Giuliani claimed his recordings depicted Freeman and Moss “passing these little little hard drives that we maintain were used to fix the machines right and they say it was candy.”

Freeman and Moss asserted that even post the substantial judgment, Giuliani continues to level false accusations against them. It is noteworthy that the U.S. District Court in Washington, D.C., has issued a permanent injunction against Giuliani, prohibiting him from making any statements implying misconduct by the women in connection with the 2020 presidential election.
