NEW YORK — Taylor Jenkins Reid, known for her hit novel “Daisy Jones & The Six,” is setting ambitious goals with her upcoming release. Her new book titled “Atmosphere: A Love Story” delves into a romance set against the backdrop of the space shuttle program during the 1980s.
This upcoming novel, set to be published by Ballantine, an imprint of Penguin Random House, is scheduled to hit the shelves on June 3. Reid expressed her excitement about the project, saying, “I have long wanted to tell a sweeping, romantic love story, and when the character of astronomer Joan Goodwin came to me, I knew I had found my way in,” in her recent statement.
The publishing house describes “Atmosphere” as “a passionate and soaring story about the transformative power of love, this time among the stars.” Reid’s previous works, including the bestselling titles “Malibu Rising” and “The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo,” have collectively sold millions across the globe. Additionally, “Daisy Jones & The Six” was adapted into a miniseries that received an Emmy nomination and featured actress Riley Keough in the lead role.
