In a new YouTube video with the progressive evangelical group Vote Common Good, actress Julia Roberts is encouraging women partnered with Trump supporters to cast their vote for Kamala Harris—even if they feel the need to keep it from their spouses.
In the video, Roberts narrates as two women are shown entering a ballot booth, with one clearly casting a vote for Harris. “In the one place in America where women still have a right to choose, you can vote any way you want, and no one will ever know,” Roberts says.
After leaving the booth, a man—apparently a husband—asks one of the women, “Did you make the right choice?” She responds with a smile, “Sure did, honey,” before exchanging a knowing look with her friend. Roberts concludes with, “Remember, what happens in the booth, stays in the booth.”
Vote Common Good has stated that their goal is to help Evangelical voters find an “exit ramp” from the Republican party in the upcoming election.
