NBA: Lakers win big against Phoenix, Knicks demolish Indiana and Philadelphia 76 loose their second game this season

The Los Angeles Lakers are the biggest surprise in this new NBA-season. The usually slow starting team has two wins at the start of the season – their best record in 20 years. The Lakers won big against the star-studded Phoenix Suns with 123 – 116. A phenomenal Anthony Davis scored 35 points – the second in a row game with more than 30 points, while Kevin Durant made 30 points. The Lakers rallied from a 22 point deficit to a 7 point win.At the same time the Knicks showed that they might also be a favorite for this NBA season with an impressive 123 – 98 win against Indiana, while the favored Philadelphia 76ers already lost their second game I n the season against the Toronto Raptors with a disappointing 107 – 115.

Lakers win second game with a phenomenal Anthony Davis

Anthony Davis scored 35 points, Austin Reaves added 26 and the Los Angeles Lakers rallied to beat the Phoenix Suns 123-116 on Friday night for their first 2-0 start since 2010-11.

LeBron James had 17 of his 21 points in the second half for the Lakers, who trailed by 22 points in the second quarter.

Kevin Durant led Phoenix (1-1) with 30 points. Devin Booker had 23.

The Lakers were down 61-52 at halftime, then outscored Phoenix 35-24 in the third quarter to take the lead as Davis and James each scored 11 in the period.

Los Angeles led by 12 points in the fourth quarter.

The Lakers trailed 81-74 with three minutes left in the third quarter before scoring nine straight points to grab the lead. That was part of a 20-6 run during a nearly five-minute span from late in the third to early in the fourth

Towns, Brunson help Knicks roll to a 123 – 98 victory over the Pacers.

 Karl-Anthony Towns had 21 points and 15 rebounds in his Knicks home debut, Jalen Brunson scored 26 points and New York routed the Indiana Pacers 123-98 on Friday night.

Mikal Bridges also scored 21 points and Josh Hart had 20 points and 10 rebounds for the Knicks, who bounced back powerfully after they were blown out 132-109 in Boston on Tuesday in the NBA season opener.

Indiana All-Star point guard Tyrese Haliburton was scoreless and went 0 for 7 on 3-pointers, falling to 1 for 16 behind the arc this season. Reserve Bennedict Mathurin scored 20 points.

The Knicks led by one with 7:29 left in the first half when the Pacers brought four starters back into the game at the same time Brunson returned. New York outscored Indiana 25-10 from there behind six points and four assists from Brunson to lead 61-45 at the break.

After allowing an NBA record-tying 29 3-pointers in the loss in Boston, the Knicks held the Pacers to 3 for 30 (10%) behind the arc.
