Jets reportedly obtain wide receiver Davante Adams from Raiders, according to AP sources

The New York Jets have reached an agreement to acquire wide receiver Davante Adams from the Las Vegas Raiders in a move that unites him once again with quarterback Aaron Rodgers. This information comes from two sources familiar with the arrangement, who requested to remain anonymous since the teams have yet to officially disclose the details of the trade.

As part of the transaction, the Jets will be sending a conditional third-round draft pick in next year’s NFL draft, which has the potential to elevate to a second-round pick, depending on the outcome of a physical examination.

Adams, now 31 years old, significantly enhances a Jets offense that has struggled with consistency during the early part of the season. His addition creates a formidable pairing with Garrett Wilson, offering Rodgers a duo of high-caliber receivers to target. Together with other offensive weapons such as Mike Williams, Allen Lazard, Xavier Gipson, tight end Tyler Conklin, and running backs Breece Hall and Braelon Allen, the Jets’ offensive lineup becomes much more potent.

Previously, Adams was sidelined for the Raiders’ last three games due to a hamstring injury and expressed his desire to leave Las Vegas, a request that the Raiders were willing to accommodate.

This reunion with Rodgers marks a return to familiarity for Adams, who spent eight successful seasons catching passes from him during their time at Green Bay.
