Somali-Canadian musician K’naan facing charges for alleged 2010 sexual assault in Quebec City

Canadian rapper K’naan, recognized for his worldwide hit song “Wavin’ Flag,” is facing legal trouble after being charged with an alleged sexual assault that dates back over 14 years in Quebec City. The charge was officially filed at the courthouse in Quebec City, indicating that the rapper, also known as Keinan Abdi Warsame, is accused of one count of sexual assault from July 2010.

According to the arrest warrant, the assault is said to have occurred between July 16 and July 17, 2010, during the period when the musician was performing at Quebec City’s popular Festival d’été de Québec. Despite the case being brought before the court, K’naan was not present during the proceedings, and his legal representatives were not immediately accessible for any comments on the matter.
