The children of the late Kim Porter, a bestselling book on Amazon titled “Kim’s Lost Words: A journey for justice, from the other side…”, which allegedly details an abusive relationship with her longtime partner, Sean “Diddy” Combs, is a fabrication. The book was independently published on Amazon in early September, prior to Combs’ arrest in New York and the unsealing of an indictment against him. The book is said to be based on Porter’s diary and notes.
The four children of Porter, Quincy, Christian, Jessie, and D’Lila, declared in a statement on Instagram that the claims of their mom writing a book are entirely false. They emphasized that anyone purporting to have a manuscript is misrepresenting themselves. The children, in their first statement since Combs’ arrest, do not directly address the criminal case against him but denounced the book as full of lies.
Addressing the hurtful rumors surrounding their parents’ relationship, the children spoke out against the alleged details of violence committed by Combs against Porter mentioned in the book. They expressed deep sadness that such false information has been circulating when the cause of Porter’s death has been determined to be natural causes.
Porter passed away in November 2018 at the age of 47 due to pneumonia, as confirmed by her autopsy report. At the time of her death, Combs referred to her as more than a best friend or soul mate. The book suggests foul play in Porter’s death despite the established cause, further disturbing her children.
The book has gained attention for its troubling content including physical abuse and sexual coercion allegedly committed by Combs. Initially released quietly on Amazon, its popularity surged following news of Combs’ arrest. The author, listed as Jamal T. Millwood writing “for” Kimberly A. Porter, is allegedly Todd Christopher Guzze, according to Rolling Stone.
Todd, who claims he received the book on a flash drive from two anonymous music industry sources, stands by its authenticity though he cannot verify it. The book, with numerous typos and errors, skyrocketed to the top of Amazon’s bestseller’s list before dropping in rankings. Todd has yet to give a statement regarding the book or the controversy it has sparked.
