Now that they have wrapped up their three-game warm-up series, No. 3 Ohio State is ready to face their Big Ten rivals. The Buckeyes sealed their tune-up games with a convincing 49-14 victory over Marshall last Saturday, showcasing their offensive prowess despite some early challenges from Marshall’s offense.

Ohio State dominated against Akron, Western Michigan, and Marshall, outscoring them 107-20. Their next test will come in a prime-time game against Michigan State followed by matchups with Iowa and a challenging away game against No. 9 Oregon on October 12, the furthest the Buckeyes have traveled for a Big Ten game.

Emeka Egbuka, who had a stellar performance with five catches for 117 yards and a touchdown, expressed confidence in the team’s running and passing game. The upcoming games will provide a better gauge of Ohio State’s capabilities.

The Buckeyes displayed their offensive strength in the recent game, with Quinshon Judkins and TreVeyon Henderson contributing touchdowns, and Emeka Egbuka catching two touchdown passes. Freshman Jeremiah Smith has also been impressive with 281 receiving yards and four touchdowns in three games.

However, Ohio State faced challenges in defense against Marshall, allowing chunk plays and conceding two first-half touchdowns. Defensive lineman Tyleik Williams was absent, adding to the defensive struggles. Coach Ryan Day acknowledged areas of improvement needed on the defensive side.

Cornerback Jordan Hancock expressed enthusiasm for the upcoming game against Michigan State and the rest of the Big Ten schedule. The Buckeyes are set to face tougher opponents which will further test their capabilities and reveal areas for growth.

Ohio State seems poised for the challenges ahead as they transition from their tune-up games to the more competitive Big Ten matchups. With a mix of offensive talent and room for defensive improvement, the Buckeyes look ahead to asserting their dominance in the upcoming games.
