Yankees Beat Mariners 11-2 with Soto’s 40th Home Run and Judge’s 4 RBI

Aaron Judge had an impressive performance as he drove in four runs for the New York Yankees in their 11-2 victory over the Seattle Mariners on Tuesday. This win brings the Yankees one step closer to securing a playoff spot in the American League. Judge’s two-run double and two-run single early in the game added to his league-leading 136 RBIs for the season.
Juan Soto contributed to the offensive display by hitting his 40th home run of the season and 200th of his career. This milestone homer came in the third inning against Mariners’ starter Bryan Woo, marking Soto’s first time reaching the 40-homer mark in a season and achieving a home run in every major league ballpark.
Soto and Judge are now part of an elite group of Yankee teammates who each hit 40 home runs in a season, joining legendary pairs like Babe Ruth and Lou Gehrig, as well as Mickey Mantle and Roger Maris. The top of the Yankees’ batting order was dominant, with Judge, Soto, and Gleyber Torres combining for seven hits, four extra-base hits, and six RBIs.
On the pitching side, Luis Gil struggled with control early but managed to limit the damage, allowing only one run over five innings for the Yankees. Mariners’ starter Woo, who had previously never given up a run to the Yankees, struggled during this game, giving up seven earned runs before being replaced.
Seattle saw offensive contributions from Jorge Polanco, Luke Raley, and Julio Rodriguez, with Rodriguez standing out with four hits while wearing crystal embellished shoes. Marcus Stroman made a rare relief appearance for the Yankees, giving up five hits, including a homer.
Looking ahead, the Yankees will send Nester Cores to the mound, while the Mariners will rely on Bryce Miller for the upcoming game. This victory puts the Yankees in a favorable position in the playoff race, with a chance to secure at least a wild-card spot with a win in the next game.
