A man has been found guilty by a jury in Alabama for attempting to organize the murder of a federal prosecutor. Michael Roman Black, 32, was convicted of making a threat to murder a federal official, solicitation to commit murder, and making false statements to a federal agent. According to federal prosecutors, Black shared his plans while incarcerated in Hoover, where he informed another inmate of his intentions to have one of the federal prosecutors handling his case killed by two associates on the outside. The prosecutors stated that he disclosed specifics about who he aimed to contact and that his plan involved having them shoot the prosecutor while she was in her car. Black could face a maximum sentence of 20 years in prison for the solicitation charge, 10 years for the threat charge, and five years for making a false statement. He is scheduled to be sentenced in December. No immediate response was received from a defense attorney representing Black when contacted for comment.
