Man admits to shooting outside former Congressman Zeldin’s New York residence

A 20-year-old gang member admitted to his role in a drive-by shooting that injured two rival gang members outside the New York residence of former U.S. Rep. Lee Zeldin. Noah Green pleaded guilty to attempted murder, criminal possession of a weapon, and conspiracy for the incident that occurred in 2022 in Shirley, Long Island. The shooting, which took place while Zeldin, a Republican running for governor at the time, was not home, left two men wounded, but both survived. Zeldin’s teenage daughters were present during the shooting. Zeldin expressed gratitude towards law enforcement, including Suffolk County District Attorney Ray Tierney, for their swift actions in ensuring the safety of his family and dealing with the aftermath of the shooting. Green was apprehended on Oct. 31, 2022, with the gun believed to have been used in the shooting and was subsequently indicted along with 17 others connected to the No Fake Love gang for various crimes, including shootings and carjackings.
During a recent court hearing, Green acknowledged his guilt when asked by Judge Anthony Senft. His attorney, Michael Alber, mentioned that Green’s primary aim now is to move on from the incident and that he never intended to be involved in criminal activities. Green is set to be handed a sentence of 12 years in prison and five years of supervised release during an upcoming hearing on Oct. 15.
