Chad McQueen, the son of Steve McQueen, passes away at the age of 63

Chad McQueen, a well-known actor recognized for his roles in the “Karate Kid” movies and the son of the late Steve McQueen, a renowned actor and race car driver, has passed away at the age of 63.
McQueen’s attorney and close friend, Arthur H. Barens, confirmed the news of his death on Wednesday, without disclosing the cause.
In a statement posted on McQueen’s verified Instagram account by his wife Jeanie and their children Chase and Madison, they expressed profound sadness and described him as a devoted father and husband who lived a life filled with love and dedication.
The family also mentioned that McQueen, who followed his father’s footsteps in acting and race car driving, passed down his passion and commitment to his children, who now carry on both his and his grandfather’s legacies.
They have requested privacy as they mourn and honor his remarkable life.
While McQueen gained recognition for his role as Dutch in the “Karate Kid” movies, he later shifted his focus from acting to racing. He founded McQueen Racing, a company specializing in custom cars, motorcycles, and accessories, which is now managed by his son Chase and daughter Madison.
In a 2005 interview with The Associated Press, McQueen revealed his decision to prioritize racing over acting, stating that he no longer found enjoyment in acting.
Throughout his racing career, McQueen competed in prestigious events such as the 24 Hours of Le Mans and the 24 Hours of Daytona before facing setbacks due to injuries.
McQueen’s dedication to preserving his father’s legacy was evident in his work with McQueen Racing and the production of two documentaries about Steve McQueen.
McQueen, the only son of Steve McQueen and Neile Toffel, had a sister named Terry who passed away in 1998. He is survived by his wife Jeanie, their children Chase, Madison, and Steven, who is also in the acting industry.
