Trump unfazed by Taylor Swift’s endorsement of Kamala Harris as he downplays impact on elections

In a recent call-in to “Fox & Friends,” former President Donald Trump expressed no surprise over pop superstar Taylor Swift’s endorsement of Democratic presidential candidate Kamala Harris. Trump suggested that Swift’s support for the Democratic Party was expected.

“It was just a question of time,” Trump stated. “She couldn’t possibly endorse Biden. You look at Biden, you couldn’t possibly endorse him,” he continued, adding that he is “not a Taylor Swift fan.” Trump described Swift as a “very liberal person” who “seems to always endorse a Democrat,” and speculated that her decision could have consequences, saying, “she’ll probably pay a price for it in the marketplace.”

Swift’s endorsement of Harris came shortly after the Democratic nominee’s debate against Republican opponent Donald Trump. The singer shared her support on Instagram, stating, “I will be voting for Harris because she fights for the rights and causes I believe need a warrior to champion them.”

During his “Fox & Friends” appearance, Trump also took a jab at Swift by praising Brittany Mahomes, wife of Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes, saying, “I actually like Mrs. Mahomes much better.” Trump noted that Brittany Mahomes is a “big Trump fan,” referencing her apparent support, which first surfaced on August 13 when she liked an Instagram post outlining Trump’s “2024 GOP platform.”

Brittany Mahomes later responded to criticism of her support for Trump on her Instagram Stories, writing, “I mean honestly, to be a hater as an adult, you have to have some deep-rooted issues you refuse to heal from childhood. There’s no reason your brain is fully developed and you hate to see others doing well.”

Trump’s comments reflect a continued pattern of dismissing celebrity endorsements of his political opponents while highlighting public figures who back him.
