Joe Jonas and Sophie Turner officially end their marriage and are now legally single.

A Florida judge has officially declared Joe Jonas and Sophie Turner divorced and single following the approval of a confidential agreement between them. The Miami-Dade County judge gave the green light to the agreement on Friday, marking the conclusion of their marriage, which lasted five years and ended in a relatively swift and peaceful manner. The divorce initially seemed to be heading towards a contentious custody battle but was resolved through moderated negotiations covering asset division, spousal support, and the custody of their two daughters, aged 4 and 2.
Judge Gina Beovides confirmed that the marriage was irreparably broken and endorsed the couple’s agreement, particularly emphasizing the parenting plan’s alignment with the family’s best interests. Both Turner and Jonas’ representatives were unavailable for immediate comment after the approval of the divorce agreement.
The former couple first connected through Instagram messages in 2016 and tied the knot in a discreet ceremony at a Las Vegas wedding chapel in May 2019, shortly after the Billboard Music Awards. The divorce proceedings were initiated by Jonas in September 2023, where he requested joint custody, citing a prenuptial agreement between the pair.
The separation seemingly turned contentious when Turner filed a lawsuit demanding Jonas surrender their daughters’ passports to allow them to join her in England. Despite the initial tension, the custody dispute was resolved by January, hinting at a forthcoming settlement between the ex-spouses. Turner, hailing from Northampton, England, is renowned for her roles as Sansa Stark in HBO’s “Game of Thrones” and Jean Grey in the “X-Men” series. On the other hand, Jonas, born in Arizona, rose to fame as part of the Jonas Brothers band and starred in a Disney Channel series alongside his siblings. Last year, the band released their sixth studio album and embarked on a U.S. stadium tour.
