The 12th seed Taylor Fritz was set to play against No. 4 Alexander Zverev, the runner-up in the 2020 U.S. Open, at Arthur Ashe Stadium. Additionally, Frances Tiafoe, seeded 20th, was scheduled to face No. 9 Grigor Dimitrov in a night match.
