A person vandalized Buffalo City Hall by breaking windows and glass doors at the nearly hundred-year-old building, according to police. The incident occurred at around 6:30 p.m. on a Sunday when the building was not open to the public. Witnesses who saw the incident recounted that a man was yelling outside City Hall, smashing glass for several minutes until police intervened and arrested him. One witness, Ali Guzel, described how the man ignored pleas from onlookers to stop damaging the windows and continued breaking them.

The Buffalo police reported that the man caused significant damage to both the exterior doors and windows of City Hall, as well as another nearby building. The identity of the suspect, any potential charges, and further details have not yet been disclosed by the authorities. Following the incident, the entrance to City Hall was sectioned off with yellow crime scene tape while law enforcement officers conducted their investigation. The damage to the building included shattered glass panes in the revolving doors and splintered windows.

Buffalo City Hall, a prominent 32-story Art Deco structure, was finalized in 1931 and was dedicated the following year to commemorate the city’s centennial since its incorporation. Situated in the heart of Western New York’s Niagara Square, the historic building remains a symbol of the region’s heritage and civic pride.
