Artem Chigvintsev, a professional from ‘Dancing With the Stars,’ apprehended on domestic violence accusation in California

Artem Chigvintsev, a professional dancer from the show “Dancing With the Stars,” was arrested in northern California on Thursday on a domestic violence charge, as confirmed by the local sheriff’s office in Yountville. Officials from the Napa County Sheriff’s Department were called to the scene in response to a domestic violence incident, leading to Chigvintsev’s arrest, reported Henry Wofford, a spokesperson for the Sheriff’s office.
Chigvintsev reportedly complied with the deputies during the arrest and has been charged with felony domestic violence. The decision to charge him with such a serious offense was made based on the existence of strong evidence or visible signs of abuse, Wofford explained. The investigation into the matter is ongoing and no details have been disclosed about the alleged victim or the nature of their relationship with Chigvintsev, Wofford added.
Following his arrest, Chigvintsev was released on $25,000 bail later on Thursday, Wofford stated. At the time of the incident, there was no immediate response from Chigvintsev’s representatives to requests for comment, and it remains unclear whether he has retained an attorney to represent him in this case.
