Vice President Kamala Harris is scheduled to have her first interview since President Joe Biden withdrew his reelection bid. She will be accompanied by Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz in a joint interview with CNN anchor Dana Bash in Savannah, Georgia. The interview is set to air at 9 p.m. Thursday Eastern time. Harris has faced criticism for not holding news conferences or granting interviews to news outlets since Biden stepped aside on July 21. Donald Trump’s campaign has been keeping track of the days she has gone without giving an interview since becoming a candidate. On Tuesday, the campaign reacted to the news by pointing out that the interview was joint, implying that Harris “is not competent enough to do it on her own.” Earlier this month, Harris mentioned to reporters that she aimed to do her first formal interview before the end of August.
