Oasis, the iconic Britpop band behind classics like “Wonderwall” and “Don’t Look Back in Anger,” is set to reunite for a tour across the British Isles next summer after a 15-year hiatus. This news marks a significant moment for fans, potentially closing the long-standing feud between brothers Liam and Noel Gallagher.
The band will grace 14 stages in Wales, England, Scotland, and Ireland in July and August, as announced by Oasis. Tickets for the tour will be available for purchase starting at 9 a.m. on a Saturday. With a definitive statement, the band declared, “This is it. This is happening.”
Following their split in 2009, Noel Gallagher departed from Oasis just before a show near Paris due to ongoing conflicts, especially with his brother Liam. Despite the estrangement, both brothers have continued to perform Oasis tracks during their solo ventures and engaged in public criticisms of each other.
The upcoming reunion tour promises to bring back the unique energy and passion only present when the Gallagher brothers share a stage, according to the band. Spanning from July 4 to August 17, Oasis will perform in various renowned venues, including Principality Stadium in Cardiff, Wembley Stadium in London, and Croke Park in Dublin.
Not stopping at the British Isles, Oasis also hinted at plans for performances on other continents outside Europe in the following year. The band acknowledged past tensions in their tour announcement, stating that “the guns have fallen silent” and “the stars have aligned.”
This eagerly awaited announcement comes after a period of speculation fueled by hints on social media. The anticipation culminated in the recent revelation, ending with a video teaser displaying the date “27.08.24” and time “8 a.m.,” reminiscent of the classic Oasis logo.
The possibility of a reunion has intrigued fans for years, with past instances like Liam Gallagher’s performance at a benefit concert in Manchester in 2017 raising hopes for a reunion. The brothers’ social media interactions and gestures had also sparked speculations before the official tour announcement.
Before the upcoming tour, Oasis was already gearing up for the release of a new collection, the “Definitely Maybe – Deluxe 30th Anniversary Editions,” commemorating their debut album and adding to the excitement surrounding their reunion plans.
