Alain Delon’s wish to be buried with his dog in France won’t be fulfilled as the dog gets to live

French film legend Alain Delon, who passed away this week at the age of 88, once expressed a desire to have his beloved sheepdog, Loubo, buried alongside him. However, following his death, it has been confirmed that Loubo will be allowed to live on. Delon had a special bond with Loubo, a Belgian Malinois he adopted in 2014, and had mentioned in a 2018 interview his wish for them to depart together if he were to pass away before the dog. This raised concerns among animal rights activists and the public about Loubo’s fate.
The Brigitte Bardot Foundation, an animal rights organization where Delon was a long-time supporter, received numerous inquiries regarding Loubo’s well-being. The foundation reached out to Delon’s family, who assured them that the dog would have a home in Douchy and would be taken care of. The foundation’s official, who preferred to remain anonymous due to communication policies, stated that Loubo’s future was never in question as Delon’s family had already made arrangements for him to continue living in their home.
Delon, known as one of France’s most iconic film stars with a career spanning movies, plays, and television, had a strong connection to animal welfare causes and supported the foundation’s efforts. Although Delon’s family has not publicly addressed the matter, it has been confirmed that Loubo will not be buried with him as previously suggested. Instead, the loyal canine will remain in the family home in Douchy, respecting the wishes of animal rights advocates and concerned citizens who feared for his well-being.
