In November, Arizona voters will have the opportunity to decide whether to include the right to an abortion in the state constitution.
The Arizona secretary of state’s office announced on Monday that 577,971 signatures had been certified, exceeding the required number for the coalition advocating for the ballot initiative to proceed to the voters. Since the U.S. Supreme Court’s 2022 ruling overturning Roe v. Wade, Democrats have emphasized abortion rights as a central theme, making it a significant aspect of their campaign in the upcoming elections.
