Origin: Joseph Pilates introduced the Pilates method in the 1920s, and today, it has grown into a full-fledged industry with certifications, specialized equipment, and numerous studios. Despite a decline in popularity around 2015, known as the ‘Pilatespocalypse,’ Pilates has now made a remarkable resurgence.

Emerging Studios: Club Pilates leads the revival with over 800 locations worldwide. [solidcore] aims to reach 250 studios, currently operating in more than 95 US locations. STRONG Pilates from Melbourne is expanding its unique blend of reformer Pilates, HIIT, and rowing from Australia/New Zealand to the UK and North America. Forma Pilates offers high-end, referral-only classes for celebrities priced between $75 and $500 per session, adding a touch of luxury to the Pilates scene.

Modern Equipment: Companies like Flexia, Frame, and LIT Method are revolutionizing Pilates equipment by integrating digital technology. Other notable brands such as Reform RX, ONYX, somato, and Sk?p are also making Pilates accessible for home workouts.

Fitness Influencers: Leading trainers like Cassey Ho and Melissa Wood-Tepperberg have cultivated massive followings with their Pilates-inspired workout programs. Cassey Ho’s Blogilates has evolved into a fitness empire, while Melissa Wood-Tepperberg’s MWH platform boasts over 100K subscribers paying $9.99/month.
