Superstar Dolly Parton morning shared a post on Instagram in collaboration with a new account called Dolly Beauty, featuring a photo of her holding a tube of red lipstick. The caption read:
“I feel glamorous on the inside, so I want to look like it on the outside… something is coming @dollybeauty.”
She has previously expressed her desire to create her own makeup line, a venture that aligns perfectly with her brand and taps into a highly profitable market. Given her track record of success in various projects, this could easily become one of her most successful endeavors.
In an interview with WWD, she confirmed the launch of Dolly Beauty’s first product: Heaven’s Kiss lipstick. The lipstick will be available in four shades, priced at $20 each, and will be sold online starting August 22nd. The packaging is stunning and unmistakably Dolly, with each tube adorned in rhinestones.
Dolly shared that this make-up line is a realization of dreams she’s had since her childhood in the country when she had to create her own make-up using whatever she could find:
“I’ve always said I never leave a rhinestone unturned. I’ve wanted to be pretty my whole life like most girls, especially country girls with dreams of glamour.
I started making my own little make-up things at home as a kid, and I’ve been known for wearing make-up — usually too much — for years.”
She also revealed the lipstick shade names to WWD, including Jolene Red, Honey Plum, Rosebud, and Birthday Suit. Dolly was deeply involved in every aspect of the process and knew exactly what she wanted in terms of formulas and colors after years of wearing make-up.
“Every time I put on make-up, I notice certain things I want in the line. A thicker gloss, a pearly gloss, or something I loved that I find in an old drawer.
Lord knows, nobody wears more make-up than me, so I know all the little things I want.”
Dolly is truly a kindred spirit.
In addition to this make-up line, Dolly has previously launched her own fragrance line in 2020 and continues to work on numerous other projects, including her baking line, a new cookbook with her sister Rachel, and Dolly Wines. Dolly never slows down, and when you think of her, besides her incredible talent as a singer/songwriter, you think of her iconic big hair and stunning make-up, so this venture is a perfect fit.
Dolly also told WWD that more complexion, eye, and lip products are in the works, and she sees endless possibilities under the “beauty” umbrella that she knows so well.
“I’ve always wanted my own wig line. But I’ve always loved make-up, and after the fragrance, make-up seemed like the natural next step.
Over the years, we’ll be introducing different makeup products, and eventually, we might branch into hair care or other beauty-related items. New dreams come every day.”
