Two prison guards apprehended for allegedly engaging in sexual relations with inmates

An officer at a prison in Louisiana has been taken into custody after being accused of having an inappropriate relationship with an inmate and smuggling cellphones to another prisoner, state officials reported on Friday. Ja’Camry Davis, a 22-year-old resident of Baton Rouge and a master sergeant at the Elayn Hunt Correctional Center, was arrested by Iberville Parish sheriff’s deputies. Davis faces charges of malfeasance in office for sexual conduct with an inmate, as well as three counts of introducing contraband into a penal institution. The Department of Public Safety and Corrections shared in a news release that Davis confessed to the alleged offenses during questioning and chose to resign from her position, which she had held since August 2022.
Another former employee of the correctional facility, 22-year-old Arraneisha Valentine, was also apprehended on Wednesday on a charge of malfeasance in office related to sexual conduct with an inmate. Details about Valentine’s place of residence were not immediately provided. She ceased working for the Department of Public Safety and Corrections in May, as per information reported by The Advocate.
There is no information available regarding legal representation for Davis or Valentine in jail records.
