Needing a win to continue his streak in the FedEx Cup playoffs, Matt Kuchar shot a 6-under 64 for the second consecutive day to claim the lead in the rain-delayed Wyndham Championship. Kuchar has made it to every postseason in FedEx Cup history, with the top 70 players qualifying for the playoff opener in Tennessee next week. Despite a challenging year, Kuchar expressed frustration with his inconsistent performance.

The 46-year-old golfer faced a 36-hole Sunday at Sedgefield Country Club due to the event being affected by rain delays. Taking advantage of the wet conditions that allowed players to lift, clean, and place their golf balls in the fairways, Kuchar climbed up the leaderboard with late birdies on holes 5-7.

Max Greyserman trailed by a stroke along with Cameron Young and Chad Ramey. Greyserman shone with a score of 60, narrowly missing a 50-foot birdie putt on the final hole. He remained hopeful for more success in the upcoming rounds, emphasizing patience and persistence.

Young, who had two eagles and a double bogey, finished with a 62, while Ramey posted a 64. Beau Hossler, Aaron Rai, and Billy Horschel were two shots behind the leaders. Meanwhile, Jordan Spieth, ranked 62nd, missed the cut, playing in the event for the first time since 2020.

With the tournament shaping up to be competitive and demanding, players like Kuchar remain focused on maintaining their performance and navigating the challenging course under varying conditions.
