Harris and Walz to host rally in Arizona, with Trump set to visit Montana

0

Vice President Kamala Harris and her running mate are scheduled to hold a rally in Arizona as part of their campaign tour through key battleground states. The state visit is notable as Harris chose Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz over Arizona Sen. Mark Kelly as her running mate, despite Kelly being a prominent figure and a former astronaut with a strong advocacy for gun control.
Former President Donald Trump is also actively involved in the political scene, heading to Montana for a rally in support of Republican Senate candidate Tim Sheehy. Trump aims to settle unfinished business from his unsuccessful attempts in 2018 to unseat Democratic Sen. Jon Tester in Montana.
Georgia Governor Brian Kemp has spoken out against Trump’s criticisms towards him, labeling them as mere “noise” and remaining focused on the upcoming election. Kemp emphasized the importance of Republicans concentrating on winning in the upcoming elections and moving past the false claims of fraud in the 2020 election.
In a strategic move, both Democrats and Republicans are targeting western Wisconsin, recognizing the significance of swing voters in the state that could impact the presidential race outcome as well as the balance of power in Congress. This underscores the intense competition and emphasis on crucial regions like Wisconsin.
If Harris and Walz win the election, it would mark a significant milestone in history as the country would see its first female leader of color, along with the possibility of the first Native American woman serving as governor. Peggy Flanagan, the lieutenant governor of Minnesota and a member of the White Earth Band of Ojibwe, stands to potentially assume the role of Minnesota’s governor if Walz assumes the vice-presidency, highlighting her representation and advocacy for Indigenous communities.
