The U.S. Coast Guard has ceased search operations for four individuals who went missing after their boat capsized near Homer in south-central Alaska last Saturday. The missing individuals were part of a family of four from Troy, Texas, as confirmed by a relative. The family members are Mary and David Maynard, along with their sons Colton (11) and Brantley (7). According to the Anchorage Daily News, a spokesperson on behalf of Mary Maynard’s parents described the family’s love for spending time with loved ones and traveling.

Mary Maynard, aged 37, worked as a traveling nurse, while her husband, David Maynard, aged 42, took care of the children and operated a lawn care business. Reports indicate that on Saturday evening, a 28-foot aluminum boat carrying eight passengers started to take on water. The Coast Guard was alerted, leading to nearby vessels rescuing four individuals from the water. Despite search efforts in the area, they were halted on Sunday evening.

Travis Magee, a U.S. Coast Guard representative, mentioned that details about the rescued individuals were not immediately available. Information regarding the sunken boat and the circumstances surrounding the incident were also limited at that time.
