According to the Kansas City police, the violence erupted on Prospect Avenue around 2 a.m. as officers on patrol heard gunshots from the crowd. A man approached the police claiming he had been shot and was promptly taken to a nearby hospital. Another man was found nearby with gunshot wounds and later succumbed to his injuries at the hospital. Reports indicated that multiple adults had also been privately transported to different hospitals for gunshot injuries, with all five individuals reported to be in stable condition. Authorities have not made any arrests in connection to the shooting yet.
