Fatal crash in Mississippi claims lives of 6 individuals, 4 of them children

A tragic two-vehicle collision in Winston County, Mississippi, resulted in the loss of six lives, including four children, as reported by authorities. The fatal incident occurred shortly before 10:30 p.m. on Thursday along Highway 14 in the county, situated approximately 100 miles northeast of Jackson. The Mississippi Highway Patrol disclosed that a 2013 Kia Rio, traveling east, collided with a 2013 Nissan Maxima heading west on the highway.

Among the individuals who lost their lives in the crash were Laqerious R. Brown, a 22-year-old from Macon who was driving the Nissan, and Sara L. Batchelor, a 25-year-old from Sebastopol who was driving the Kia. Additionally, the four passengers in Batchelor’s vehicle – a 16-year-old girl, a 6-year-old girl, a 3-year-old boy, and a 1-year-old girl – also tragically perished in the collision.

Authorities have shared that the circumstances of the accident are currently under investigation to determine the factors that led to this devastating crash.
