Bronny James scores 12 points as Lakers narrowly defeat Hawks 87-86 at Summer League

Bronny James, the son of basketball legend LeBron James, displayed his best performance during the Los Angeles Lakers’ Summer League game against the Atlanta Hawks. In this game, he scored 12 points, making a significant improvement in his shooting. James made four baskets out of his first five attempts, including his first 3-pointer out of 17 attempts this summer. He ended the game shooting 5 for 11 from the field and 2 for 5 from beyond the arc.
This game marked a positive shift in Bronny James’ performance as he had been struggling with his shooting leading up to this game. Prior to this match, he had made only 7 out of 31 shots from the field during the summer games, including a 4 for 19 record in the two games he played in Las Vegas.
So far in the Summer League, which includes three games in Las Vegas and two in the California Classic in San Francisco, Bronny James, picked 55th in this year’s draft, is averaging 5.8 points, 3.2 rebounds, 1.2 assists, and 1.2 steals per game, shooting at 29%.
During his college basketball stint at Southern California last season, Bronny James averaged 4.8 points, 2.8 rebounds, and 2.1 assists per game. His college career faced a delayed start due to a congenital heart defect, which was discovered after he experienced cardiac arrest during a workout the previous summer.
